Now, I went into KoS knowing that my favorite character, Nikolai Lantsov (aka the light of my life, my clever fox, my king of Ravka, scourge of the seas, and inventor of all things airshippy), would be the highlight of the story. This book is the sequel and the penultimate end of the events that were brought forth in King of Scars. Rule of Wolves is the culmination of all the stories that made the Grishaverse so compelling to me.Īnd, of course, as this book is the second in a duology, spoiler alert! At this point I’ve practically read all of the Grishaverse, the last two after I’d binge-watched the Netflix Shadow and Bone series (at least three times by this point, lol!). Honestly it’s been a few months since I read this book, but the events in it are definitely still fresh on my mind. Spy. Together they must find a way to forge a future in the darkness.
